Hi,
We have a SharePoint 2010 farm where we have many site collections with InfoPath 2010 code-behind forms, and I'm trying to update them based on requirements. The only environment we have is Production, so I'm afraid to experiment there. I didn't publish these forms myself and I'm new to publishing forms with code, so I'm trying to find out how they were published and how to make changes to them.
So, I have a few of questions regarding this.
1. I see that there are the same form templates in Form Templates library in every site collection and in Central Administration > Manage Form Templates. The only difference is the Modified date. It seems that it's different for the same form across all site collections. What is the difference between these two libraries? How and where a form with code is published? Can it be published in both places or only in one place?
2. I read that you can upload a form template to Central Administration and then activate it to a site collection. What happens when upload the new version of the form template and what happens when you activate it only to one of the site collections that have this template in the Form Templates library? I'm really confused about this. Can someone explain?
3. I have a requirement where I need to add new fields into the form and I see that they are not going to affect the code inside the form. Is there an easy way to just publish it directly to the site collection where I need it after I update the form, instead of uploading it to Central Administration and re-activating it to the site collection?
I appreciate your help!
