Hi all,
If I understand correctly, the best approach is to disable the Submit and Save options (Form Options | Web Browser in InfoPath)
in the toolbar and use your own Submit button.
Problem is that, when the user clicks Submit and there’s a field validation error, a validation warning is shown, user clicks Ok button, the form is closed and all filled data is lost (user needs to start from scratch).
In my case it’s not just a matter of if a required filed is empty or not (and maybe, enable/disable the Submit button accordingly).
The field may be filled and still have a validation error (something like a “MVSN-NNN” mask where “N” is numeric).
See Submit Click rules below (and image):
- Close this form: No Prompt
- Set a field’s value: txtSubmit = “1”
- Submit using a data connection….
I see the “Don’t run remaining rules if the condition of this rule is met” (see link below) but I cannot see any way of creating a new rule at the top that captures a field validation error.
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance!!!
