Hello, I've been searching for an answer to this, but I am having trouble finding one already posted. Here is my question. I have a custom workflow that sends an email to a user based on the value of a people picker in the form. We have situations that require that name to be changed from the original person to a new person. I would like to create a manually initiated workflow that will ask for the name of a new person via a people picker, and then update both the sharepoint list and form with the new value, and then send out a new email. right now I have all of the fields from the people picker promoted to the list, and they are checked so that the values can be updated via datasheet entry. I have created a manually started workflow that is able to take a new name, and it will successfully update the sharepoint list with the new values, however when you open the form, the old values are still displayed. Is it not possible to actually update the form field from a manual workflow? am I missing something obvious here? Ray

 Are you setting all of the fields? I haven't tried this - but I know if you set just the account id when trying to populate a people picker with rules, it doesn't resolve to the person... but it may also be that since this is happening via workflow, the people picker isn't resolving when the form reopens. Maybe add a helper field that the form can check on load so you can have rules in the form to set the people picker when it opens?

I was able to get it to work by changing all the fields and using the Set inner XML action with the Xpath code to the particular field.
