UserProfileByName returns strange result (Office 365)

Hello, when I query the user profile service to return the MANAGER field it returns a strange value (i:0#.f|membership|[email protected]). The other fields (department, email, etc) do seem to return the correct results. Any suggestions?

That is the way Office 365 returns user name, I'm afraid - so yes, a different result than you see in Filler / Preview.
