Populate values for first position in repeating section

I have a requirement in InfoPath form 2013 to auto populate 1st value of people picker value which is in repeating section based on a drop down value. Example: In the form there are two fields say Field1 and Field2. Field2 is in repeating section. I have written a rule on Field1 to fill Field2 value. If I insert multiple rows for Field2 and then select any value from Field1 then the rule on Field1 is triggering but the values are filling for all the Field2 values. But my requirement is to fill only for the first position of Field2.

    Hi Kiran262,

I have here a sample form with a trigger logic that sets the first row of the repeating table. If you check the rules on field 3, you will notice a condition that will only run if index = 1. The index field here uses a default value formula to determine the table's row numbers. This approach does not need coding, we simply used an index and a trigger action.

Another approach you can do is by hacking into the manifest file, locate the rule which sets field 2 to th value of field 1, and then modifiy the target field: field2 with the row number [1].

    Hope this helps.
