    Prepopulating fields

    Hi

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have a InfoPath form connected to an Access database, what I would like is for to be able to manually enter data in field A and the other fields in that group prepopulate based on the value of field A.

It sounds as if it should be pretty straight forward but I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall trying to get this to work.

I am using both InfoPath and Access 2010.

     Thanks

Hi - so, is this a secondary data connection or the main data connection?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I have tried both, I have tried with it being the main data connection and the secondary

I have tried starting by using the database template which allows me to submit data to the access database, but if I the try to create another view to retrieve data from the same database it tells me it is not supported.

If I setup a blank form and use the data connections option I can retrieve the data from the Access database but I don't seem to be able to have both in the same form, even with different views.

I know that this maybe a bit of a push for InfoPath but I would have hoped that I could create different views one to submit data and the other to retrieve the same data rather than having to have 2 separate forms.

Any advice that anyone can give would be gratefully receive and much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark
