our last  server had crashed and sharepoint site was moved. everything works except when users try to submit a new InfoPath form clicking "add document" the above error comes up.  I have tried recreating it under a new library, it is also set as a web form

it is a simple form with no extra programming

I have checked that these are enabled

SharePoint Server Enterprise Site Collection features

    SharePoint Server Publishing

    User Browser-enabled Form Templates

Allow users to browser-enable form templates

Render form templates that are browser-enabled by users

after further testing I have found that this is only when the now() function is used in one of the fields for automatically grabbing current date and time.

not sure what I would need to do to enable that (was working previously with same import process)

How odd. Can your SharePoint Admin check the logs for the correlation ID to get more info?

thanks for the quick response.  currently I am the admin but am new to it (first site).  I went into site settings>site collection administration>view auditing reports.  tried each one but they all say no information... also tried content and structure logs

is there a different section I need to look in to pull up these logs? so far I am just guessing some setting that blocks form with functions since I just tried other random functions and it gets the error for any of them but then works when there are no functions, everything else is text fields

    thanks

https://habaneroconsulting.com/insights/get-the-real-sharepoint-error-using-the-uls-logs#.VYsXno3bKUk has some helpful info - I generally just review the log files in a text editor - the default location for the ULS logs for SharePoint 2013 is: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\Logs

There are a lot of "login failed" errors in this log - you should probably get those resolved.

This seems like a likely culprit - form render failed because the user's session was closed:

06/24/2015 20:28:38.04  w3wp.exe (0x1710)                        0x0C6C InfoPath Forms Services        Runtime                        e5q1 Assert   Form render failed because the user's session was closed StackTrace:   at Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server.Controls.XmlFormView.RenderForm(HtmlTextWriter writer)     at Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server.Controls.XmlFormView.RenderContents(HtmlTextWriter writer)     at System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebControl.Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)     at Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server.Controls.XmlFormView.RenderControl(HtmlTextWriter writer)     at System.Web.UI.Control.RenderChildrenInternal(HtmlTextWriter writer, ICollection children)     at System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlContainerControl.Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)     at System.Web.UI.Control.RenderChildrenInternal(HtmlTextWriter writer, ICollection children)     at System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlContainerControl.Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)

It comes right after a logged error about a login error and the state service database:

06/24/2015 20:28:38.02  w3wp.exe (0x1710)                        0x0C6C SharePoint Server              State Service                  bm1l Medium   StateSqlSession.SetAndReleaseItemBytesExclusive(): Exception for key 9ed79f4c2c014c8492a1757045d15030_068ddb98eafd49fa90eb806ad3944fa2.      thanks for all the help.  currently just using my log in which is set to full control (same username used creating site).  is there anything else I need to do to clear up errors for my user?

also I have recently noted that I can run InfoPath forms with just text fields, can fun InfoPath with formulas, BUT cannot run them with any functions

included another log taken during a failed infopath

'ESARC\mossserviceaccount' is your account? This is the login that is failing on your SharePoint databases.

no just logging in with my username, but I did add 'ESARC\mossserviceaccount' to owners group to see if it had any effect

I can see I am still not being clear enough. Did you configure this SharePoint server, or did someone else? SharePoint needs access to various databases on your SQL server to function correctly. The account I mention is showing up in the log as being unable to connect to these databases. I believe your InfoPath Forms Services issues are due to this account, that was configured as the account SharePoint is using to connect to SQL, is for some reason not able to connect to the various databases SharePoint needs to connect to. If you review the log files, you'll see many entries like the one I initially mentioned, where this account can't connect to database SharePoint needs access to.

thanks for all your help.  haven't worked with sql that much.  I went to sql server management studio on the server running sql server.  it shows a user mossserviceaccount.  for  server roles it just has a check in public (I tried selecting all options in that screen to see if it would help but didn't).. status has grant permission to connect to database engine and login enabled, login name is set as windows authentication.

is there anything else I would be missing in there for the account
