Infopath form for approval workflow in Sharepoint designer

I do want to create workflow for approving an item, so I start Approval process on Current Item with Current Responsible in SharePoint Designer.

I want to correct approval form in InfoPath, as I have more than one possible variants (e.g.: go to stage 1, go to stage 2)

on this step I have two problems.

    1. I want InfoPath form to show current item's name, but instead it shows all items' names, when I choose my list and data field in fields.

    2. I want to set field's value of the current item (status) equal (e.g. "next stage"), but when I write it in the rule - it doesn't work.

    Questions:

    1. How can I show value of current Item, or it's easier to enter data in letter's body and leave infopath form almost empty?

    2. How to change current item's field's value, or how to connect changing of the status of the workflow, by clicking the button on the infopath form so that I can use it as a condition in workflow in Sharepoint Designer?

    Thank you in advance!

I found, that yes, status of the workflow can be connected to InfoPath form, but I still can't imagine how..

You can create Microsoft Office InfoPath forms that display specific data that corresponds to the current status of a workflow. You do this by designing a form template to use rules that initiate actions in the form based on the status of the workflow. This can streamline the processes that people use to fill out forms. For example, you can design forms to display a read-only view when the status for a workflow is Complete and, therefore, the data in the form should not be changed.

You can also use rules to make forms respond to workflows in other ways. For example, you can use a rule to display a dialog box message that has instructions that are specific to a particular workflow status.

Note   Dialog boxes will not appear automatically in browser-compatible form templates that users fill out in a Web browser.

Re: Infopath form for approval workflow in Sharepoint designer

My post hasn't beed uploaded, don't know why((

    Will write once more:

I've found some ways of solving my problems, but still I have encountered some obstacles.

I've created workflow in Sharepoint Designer on my initial list (with activities). In workflow I create new Item in new list with name of the current activity and after that start approval process.

In Infopath I've created connection to this very new list, and with help of filter ID = max (ID) I can show the only one value in the form for user's convenience.

P.S. I've seen another solution of this - checkbox in creating receiving data connection, where there are only values of the current item (something like that). But this checkbox is not enabled in my InfoPath

In submitting the form I've chosen Sharepoint library and name is equal this last item's name and status needed. After that I think I'll start new workflow on this library.

But I have several questions. When I tried to make data connection with initial list and show current item with the help of formula (modified = max(modified) it doesn't work.

And does anybody knows, whether it's possible to check in the new created list, whether the item has already been created, because I have different statuses and sometimes Item can have the same name and I'm afraid, that there will be a lot of items in the list..

P.S Some people advice adding key field, but name with staus for me is a key field. Some people advice creating workflow variable, but I can't imagine how to use it
