    Hi Gopal and welcome to our forum!
    Open the form in the designer. Change to the data source. Double click on the field that has the popup. Uncheck the cannot be blank checkbox.

    Thanks Patrick,

    Is there any other way to remove it? I like to keep all my validations in place.

    It's a schema validation and the data source properties is where that should be specified.

    If I uncheck the checkbox from data source properties, how do I validate the specific field for blank value?

    Did I misunderstood your answer?

    Hi Gopal,
    You can add data validation by double clicking the text box in the view and going to Data Validation and adding conditions and alerts. You can add Conditional Formatting by clicking on the display tab, adding conditinos and changing look and feel there. You can check the Cannot be Blank on this properties dialog - it's same schema validation as in data source pane property dialog.

    Re: How to remove popup/tooltip like "Cannot be blank"

    I have been able to remove "Cannot be blank" message by adding validation. Now Screen Tip showed up.

    Is there a way to completely remove/disable Popup/ToolTip/ScreenTip from InfoPath 2007 form?

    Sure, just don't add it in the first place. :)

    Re: How to remove popup/tooltip like "Cannot be blank"

    I tried your suggestion of using conditional formatting and coloring the text box with a red color when the required fields are blanks.  It looks okay but I would rather have the messages there as well.  Also, the forms is still allowed to submit with missing data unless I code a check in the code-behind.

    Is there a stylesheet somewhere that can be changed to alter the style of the popup DIV?  It seems there should be.

    Also, instead of showing a popup with 'InfoPath cannot submit the form because it contains errors.  Errors are marked with either a red asterisk (required fields) or a red, dashed border (invalid values)' can this message be customized as well?

    What about removing the  'Powered by: InfoPath Forms Services' from the bottom, of the form?

     If not, I think this is terrible design for this product.  Given that the form is XML and is run through a transform to display in the browser this should be easily customizable.

     Your help is greatly appreciated.

    To remove the div you'll need to make chages to the folowing style sheet. ifsmain.css on the front end web server

    The file is located

    _/LAYOUTS/INC/

     From

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    .errorDiv
    {
     z-index:100;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;display:none;width:300px;padding:2px 3px;
     border:1px solid #B22828;background:#FFFED7;color:#B22828;

     font-family:Verdana;
     font-size:x-small;
     text-decoration:none;font-weight:normal;

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

     To

    .errorDiv
    {
     z-index:100;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;display:none;

     font-family:Verdana;
     font-size:x-small;
     text-decoration:none;font-weight:normal;
    }

    Re: How to remove popup/tooltip like "Cannot be blank"

    Grobinson,

    Since the vast majority of my forms are browser-enabled, and since both the "Cannot be Blank" and Data Validation messages are extremely annoying in browser mode, I don't use either.  What I use is a back-end validation method that uses conditional formatting to disable my submit button until all required fields are completed or are properly filled out.  I manually place red asterisks next to the LABEL instead of in the control box, and I place an obvious message saying that all fields with red asterisks must be filled out in order to submit.  This helps me avoid two things:  annoying popups that get in the way, and my users never get an error after clicking submit (because they can't even click it unless it's a valid form).

     Manually adding those images can be time consuming and painfull!

    To use validationn without having to manually place an asterix img  beside any of the form controls. I've discovered a quirk  that allows you to remove the annoying popups, remove the DIV error style sheet, and allow validation to work with in forms that are client and  browser enabled. All validation routines work perfectly. There's no need to  run conditions in the background.

    Anyone want to know how?

    YOu don't have to use an image for an asterisk - it's just shift-8 and is very easy.  This method also keeps the user from getting an error post-submission, which can be very disconcerting to a normal user, because it's not obvious what the error is nor what to do to fix it.  I prefer to take care of it all within the form before the person can even try to submit (only referring to required fields, not data validation).

    Hi,

    I was just trying to modify the look n feel of tool tip text.

    It worked fine within Infopath environment. But failed to work when i published it to web based form librray.

    The look n feel remains as it is.
