Query & Filter secondary data Connection (SP2007/Infopath 2010)

    Hi to everybody,
I am new on this forum and also quite new in SP and InfoPath development.

I have joined the forum as I find it very useful for my development activities.

I have a problem with a long list in SP 2007 having today roughly 5.000 items and may be someone can help me to solve it.

The list contains many figures (Financial, Production, HR,..) of our production plants.

I have developed a form that is showing these figures, with some drop down fields on the top that should allow the users to filter the data.

User can also change the values and submit the changes back to SP (here I used some simple code found on this forum and in some other places)

Filter are: Plant, Function, Year, Month.

Currently filters are hiding in the repeating table the items that are not matching the filter.

Everything was fine until the list had few tens records for testing proposes, but now having so many items I cannot filter them as I want.

The issue is that the SP list is transferring to the form only the first 100 items and not more (increasing the value of the items shown from the view is not a solution)

What I would like to have is some like this:

-) user selects the 4 filters (drop down list)

-) he/she pushes a button and the filtered amount of items will be retrieved from SP list.

May be the solution is simple and I was not able to get it or may be some coding is needed.

Any help will be highly appreciated

    Thanks

    Filippo

I solved it, after some more searching in Google and in the forum.

I had simply to use the IP2010 forms (and not IP2007)  and set the query field of the data connection (see i.e. http://www.wonderlaura.com/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=129)

Did not try before to use IP2010 forms as I was not sure if it worked with my SP 2007

see you soon for more questions :-)
