As of last Thursday we started having problems with loading InfoPath forms that connect to a sqlserver through a UDC It has been very intermittent working for a couple of hours then all of a sudden loading for extended amounts of time. Rebooting the wfe's seems to clear it up temporarily but then we start having problems again. Some of them errors we see in the ULS logs are this.
The form load time (/applications/hr/StatusChange/Change Request/Forms/template.xsn) has exceed the maximum configured threshold. This threshold can be configured by using the SPIPFormsService -MaxFormLoadTime PowerShell commandlet

the form loads and calls something from UserProfile services then queries an external list (sql server database view) with the item pulled from userprofile .. This only happens when it errors out .. usually it just sites at a "Form Loading" screen till it finally fumps to a this page can't be displayed.. and those times don't write anything to the ULS Logs so I am kind of at a loss how to troubleshoot this. I am the "dba who kind of does sharepoint admin stuff" but I don't write forms of know InfoPath at all, but I am working with the developer of the site who states nothing has changed and has only seen timeouts when trying to get at the UDC from InfoPath. Any ideas where I can start troubleshooting this?
Thank you for any and all replies.
