InfoPath Dev

 I currently have a form that is configured on the Submit Options screen to submit the form data as follows:

• Send form data to a single destination
• Web server (HTTP)

 (note -- the form data is sent via HTTP POST to a program on an application server)

My users would like me to capture the user id and date that the form is submitted, so I need to tie multiple actions to the Submit button.

From what I'm reading, I will need to select the "Perform custom action using rules" option on the Submit Options screen, and then configure rules to capture the required data, and then submit the form.

But when I try to configure the submit action using Rule Details screen, I don't see where the submit can be configured to submit to a web server (HTTP).

Am I missing something, or is this submit option supported on the Submit Options screen, but not supported via rules?

On the InfoPath form, click Data tab, Submit options. Check the box to allow users to submit this form. In the drop down, you will see the option - Web Server (HTTP). Click on Modify and define the HTTP Post url. Hope this helps.

Ok, that is how I currently have the form configured.  But how do I first store the user id and date, and then submit the form?

This tye of Submit connection submits the entire form as an XML document. You cannot create multiple Submit actions. Instead use workflow to submit the data. See this for reference:

 Ok, thank you for the information.  I should have noted in my original post that I am using the client version of the InfoPath filler form.  Because of this, I don't believe there is a way to accomplish multiple actions on submit.

 Does anyone know why, technically, multiple actions cannot be performed before submitting, via rules, using HTTP POST?
