Filling out additional fields on the form for a second time and forwarding the complete form to an email

    Hello,

I am going to try and not make this confusing. I am trying to set up a form with the following features or rules but I don't know how to go about it, or if it can be done.

I have a form created that I want to send to two people. One of those people will need to update information (on a database elsewhere that doesn't touch InfoPath), then check a box or add comments to a second section of the form saying the information has been updated. Then enter in an email that they want to send the completed information to.

Does this make sense? Is this possible?

Also can I set it up where in the form, if a state is selected in a drop down option, it will send the form to that company location instead of all company locations. I could add all company locations, but they don't all need to know when another company is making a few changes because it is not relevant to them.

    Hi,

    Both are easily possible.

The first part of your problem can be solved with Sharepoint workflow. You can create task for the person. Once they complete the task and add comments, update the information in your list with workflow actions. This will reflect in your infopath form.

Second problem needs a mappings list. Create two columns in this list, State and Responsible. In your infopath form, create secondry data connection to this list. Populate the drop down with State column. Use rule on drop down field and set another field in the list = responsible when drop down value changes. Use workflow or Infopath data connection to send the email to this responsible on form submission. Hope it helps.
