Hello,
I am a Sharepoint architect and currently working on an assignment which requires creation of a Request form very similar to Expense report solution using SharePoint 2007 standard edition / Infopath 2010. Since the customer does not allow custom programming and SharePoint designer or Infopath rich client is the only options to deliver this solution, I need help in developing and delivering the solution using qRules 6.1. I have download a trail version of the software and installed.
I have been hearing your youtube videos about the parent child sharepoint forms (expense report) but haven't seen an article end-to-end solution or a step by step implementation of the solution. Can you point me to article which might already have?
This will help making decision on the purchase of the tool at the earliest as we have such requirements in future. Again, I am NOT asking for consultancy help and just looking to see how I can develop such a solution. Since we only work on Sharepoint 2007/ 2010/2013 standard version and mostly front-end or code, we do not have exposure to Infopath (newbie) nor qRules.
Little background about the Request form we would like to build.
1) We have 2 Sharepoint lists. Parent and child
2) Parent needs to have an unique ID field (Something like CR000001, running sequence number).
3) Child list (items) is related with the parent using this ID.
4) Parent has few look up/ drop down fields (populated from other look up SP lists), one option group field as well, person and group and date fields.
5) Child / list items has a amount and needs totals as well (may be calculated field)
6) Requester can create/edit it and finally submit it to Finance dept.
7) And finally based on one of the Options selected (A options field with a value "Others" selected should trigger a basic Finance approval workflow.), Since the customer has deciced on this, it rather could be just an system email to the approver and NO workflow
Hope it is a reasonable request and awaiting your response at the earliest.
Regards,
Surya
