    Contains function + Sum function

    Hi,

I'm trying to tie a Contains function with a Sum function and can't seem to figure out the prefix between both functions to make it work.

    Any suggestions....

    Thanks
    Lou

Can you give us an example? What do you have so far and what are you trying to get?

Contains field name, "Targeted") ??? sum(field name) / sum (field name).

It seems that I can't link both functions together. The question marks above is where I'm having an issue. Basically, I'm trying to do an If then calculation. If a feild equals a certain text, then do a certain calculation.

Ok what you would want to do is put the filter on the field you would want to sum. You know what you want to do you just need the correct method.

    sum(products[.="good"]) / sum(products[.="bad"])

When creating you formula and selecting the fields select the Filter Data button in the bottom left of the window and then put in your criteria that would limit the fields returned.
    Such as field = "Targeted"

So would it be something like this:

    sum((field1519[.="targeted"]) field160) / sum((field1519[.="targeted"]) field158)

Re: Contains function + Sum function

    Still having issues:

    Repeating Table

I have a field that is a drop down list. The choices are Targeted and Migrations(Field1519). Based on this choice, I want to divide 2 other numberic fields (field160 and field158) and diplay it as a percentage.

Any additional help would be appreciated....

    Thanks
    Lou

    Hi lou131,

Why dont you try for applying rules by inserting a button and setting a condion on that. If field1519 = "Targeted" or "Migrations" then set the functionality what ever you want in the field161.

    Hope this will help you.
