How to find offending field referencing a bad data connection

    Hi All,

I recently migrated a form library to another site and started working to restore the data connections on the form and workflow in SPD2013. The problem is that InfoPath2013 does not like the fact there is a field somewhere in my form or onload or data connections that is referencing this particular data connection. I get an warning error now when I load the form that says 'An error occurred querying a data source'. So my first question is how do I find out which field this is? I thought I could just remove the data source in the Manage Data Connections modal but when I do that I can't even publish the form because it throws an Invalid form template error. and the popup says The data source 'xxxxxxx' referenced in the form template is not valid or cannot be found. But it doesn't tell me which one! ARRgh. There are about 80 fields in my form. I went through them all and turned off all the rules associated but still the error. I deleted everything on the form and on each of the views just to see, and still the error. Looks like something got stuck in the code behind. Any thoughts on how I could resolve this? It is taking way to much time for me to figure this out so I wanted to check here. I have seen the power of this forum! Thanks in advance. Let me know what you might need to help me solve this.

I save the form as source files (from the Publish menu) then open the manifest.xsf and the view files in a text editor and search for the name of the data source that was removed. See if you can find it and I can give you a hand tracking down how to fix things up. :)
