Check if a value exists in a list

Hi, I have a sharepoint list with unique numbers (tokens). For a query with our staff, I would like to perform a survey and only have the survey appear if a valid token is entered. I figured out I can show/hide sections by making them invisible when a rule is not met. I found that I can compare to a secondary dataconnection (don't know the exact English term, my Office is Dutch) I noticed that I can choose between "all occurences of" and "any occurence of" when selecting a data field But with all that combined, I can't have a rule that says: if is not in hide form. How should I do this?

Hi - so they enter a valid token in the form somewhere? You can always have them enter the value in a list data connection query field, then execute the query, then count the returned items - if no items are returned, the token was not valid.

Hi Hilary, There's this terrible thing about international software, that all those important terms are translated to Dutch when using my InfoPath/Sharepoint/MS Office stuff... I could figure out your explanation, but with a little help from this nice youtube video, I just worked it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQlWiCdbKBg Thanks for the guidance!
