    Rules around hyperlinks??

    Hi,

    Is there a way to place rules around hyperlinks?

    I have a form with hyperlinks to open other saved forms. But I want to have rules around this to open forms that reside in different sharepoint folders. Based on certain field entries, I can build some rules but I don't know how to incorporate the hyperlinks so the right form opens.

    Thanks
    Lou

    Hyperlinks are just that. They don't get all the other special stuff like rules. One trick commonly used is to use a button formatted like a hyperlink (blue, underlined, no borders or background color, etc.), and then you can use rules.

    Greg,

    I made some progress on your suggestion but still don't see how the button can call a saved form in a sharepoint folder and open it up like a hyperlink. When I start to setup my rules, I don't see an action to hyperlink.

    Any other thoughts...

    Thanks

    Rules have an open form template action--but since you want to open an existing form instead of starting a new one, you will need code for your button. The code is as follows (please convert from JScript if required):

    var spFormXDocument = Application.XDocuments.Open("http://sharepointsite/formname.xml");
