InfoPath Dev

I have a simple text field in an InfoPath 2010 form.  Somewhat regularly, after saving the form, the update entered into the text field doesn't save.  It's happened so often I now save the update to the clipboard and then have to verify the update "stuck" before moving on.  Other users have experienced this as well,  Any ideas why this would be happening?

Is this a browser or a filler form? Are there any rules that may affect the field? You can right click the field in the data source task pane and select the Rule Inspector to see.

Hilary, Thank you for the reply. There are no rules on the field.  I don't know the difference between a filler and browser form.

Do you fill out the form in a web browser? Or does the form open in InfoPath on user's machines?

And to Save, you just use the Ribbon at the top of the form? Any chance I could see a copy of the form? You can attach it under the Options tab in a reply.

Okay - so it is a SharePoint list form and you are correct, there are no rules that should be impacting this field - but it is a rich text field - and I have recently seen some issues with these in IE 11 (but only in some very specific circumstances) - what version of Internet Explorer are your users on? Is there any correlation between IE version and the issue? You may want to experiment with setting postback to always on this control - just to see if it makes a difference. If you right click the rich text box on the form and under the properties, find the browser tab, you can try changing that to "always".

I'm sure there are a few versions of IE in use.  I have changed the setting to always as you suggested.  I will test it and see what happens.  THANKS!!!! 

If you find that the issue is mainly on machines with newer versions of IE, try putting the site into the compatibility view settings and see if that makes a difference.
