I searched this site to see if anyone else has had a similar error to me and in this thread: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/12891/45490.aspx drummiezoe talks about the same issue I am having - unfortunately his solution was a workaround.
I have what I would conside to be a pretty simple form. This form is used to submit network activations, deactivations, and changes, so the form is broken into those three sections. Each section has four buttons that I currently have doing conditional formatting to show their associated hidden section. For example, "Activation, CEM Activation, GRE Tunnel, Voice". The sections are all hidden unless their respective button is clicked. The sections are all repeating sections, because a user could require 8 activations and 3 deactivations in one form.
When I try to submit the form with one of any repeating section, the form submits without error. If I try to submit the form with 2 of the same repeating sections (2 activations, or 2 changes, etc.), I receive the following error: "An editing action referred to a field or control that cannot be found in the current view." The original section is left intact, but when I click "Ok" to go back to the form, the repeating sections are now blank. I can fill them out again and the form submits without issue. (Also, the repeating sections are somewhat annoying in that users have to click "add new section" then go back and click the button to make it visible - anyone know of a workaround for this?) Are my show/hide rules and the repeating sections somehow conflicting with one another to cause this problem?
I can't really consider just removing the conditional formatting to hide the repeating sections, because the form would just be entirely too long and too confusing.
I haven't changed any views in the form, and for the most part my rules are all pretty simple... conditional formatting for the hidden sections to be shown on button click. I'm also using a submit button rather than the submit in the ribbon because I'm having the form autogenerate a new # for it's filename each time a form is submitted. (I tried using the submit in the ribbon and it wasn't possible.)
Any help is appreciated! Thank you.
