    Total Time function

    Hello Hilary,

Thank you for your support as it resolved my concern but still get stuck with other function.

    1)  I have tried to get total of 01st break total + 02nd Break total + 03rd Break total however no sucess.

Could you please explain how to sum up the total break function.

    2) Is there any function or rule by which we can set a default value of 1 hrs i.e. 01:00:00 on feild.

    Thanks for your support.

Is the field you are trying to set a default for actually a date time field? If so, you'd need to concatenate the today function with "T" and the time (unless you want the time for a different date, in which case you'd need to know where to find that date)

    concat(today(), "T01:00:00)

You could use a rule to set the field.

I don't know what the values are in your first question - are they date time values again?

Perhaps working through this link will help you:

    Hello Hilary,

    Thank you for your post.

Yes you are correct all my feild are date and time.

I tried the function concat(today(), "T01:00:00") and it works as giving the duration of 01 hour.

I have gone throug the msdn blog but I am sorry as not able to understand it as it is calcuating the time from dailytimeminutes which I dont have such feild.

You have given me the below function yesterday

    concat(substring-before(@_01st_Break_Out, "T"), "T", (translate(addSeconds(substring-after(@_01st_Break_Out, "T"), -1 * (substring(substring-after(@_01st_Break_In, "T"), 1, 2) * 3600 + substring(substring-after(@_01st_Break_In, "T"), 4, 2) * 60 + substring(substring-after(@_01st_Break_In, "T"), 7, 2))), "", "")))

which i used to get the total break timing and as I have three break slots so once all break used I want to get a total of break utilized.

Please help me to create the function to get total time from all three break total time feild.

    Thanks for your support.

I still have a copy of your form - I'll work out the formula for you in that and post it later - it may be tomorrow before I have time.

I re-read that post on BrainTrove so I better understood what the formula is doing and here is a cleaned up version with the defaults set they won't have a value that is an error in them.
