    Another Signature question???

I have a table with signatures in it within a section that has a signature associated to it. Noe the signatures in the table do not always have to be signed, but the signature for the section does. What I would like is if the section is signed, that you cannot sign the signatures that I have in the table. Right now, the signatures in the table are the only thing I can edit and I would like those to be innactive when the section is signed.

Thanks you again... and yes it is still sunny and warm here in Florida :-)

    Hello Bernie,

Glad to know you're getting sun. You probably know the Seattle reputation. :)

Regarding your signatures. When you say you have signatures in the table do you mean it's just a layout table or a repeating table? Do you have another wrapping section acround just the table to be able to sign that part? Are the fields in that table physically inside the section node in the Data Source?

I tried a quick test making some guesses. When I sign the wrapping section node, all nodes inside there are read-only. I do see that if there is an inner wrapping signature section then that section is still signable.

I think the only way to work around this is to create a duplicate section without signatures and then use conditional formatting that will show your non-sig section when the outer one is signed. You can set conditional formatting (hide) based on if a signature has been applied somewhere in the form.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks, Shiraz

    Seattle huh? Yuk!!!

I have a section that has a digital signature applied to it. That Section is in a Layout table. Both of those are in another section that has a signature applied. I tried a conditional with hide selected when the section gets signed but the other signatures still appear. And if I did that and it worked then I would not be able to view those signatures when they were actually signed.

    Hi Bernie,
I'm sorry that I haven't had time to respond and I don't have time to think too deeply about this today, but have you considered using a different button to sign it? In other words, don't use the out-of-box digisig control. In addition to calling the Sign method (some code) this button could also change some state flag and that state could control which view is displayed. Now, this is a diversion from traditional sign support and it will require attaching signatures to different nodes. This may not work if the section is repeating, etc.
