I don't think the UI is going to offer anything here. If you just needed to change the formatting, I would exporting the source files and modifying the view manually (or at least trying!) if you could find a way to make find / replace work for that.... But when you also need to change data types, that could get sticky. I suppose you could try changing the schema manually from the source files - back up your form before experimenting with this, okay.
