Hi,

I am using an item event receiver which will automatically generate infoapth forms.I have a problem that a value is needed to be inserted into a dropdown field in that event reciever.Can anyone help me about this problem?

Your event receiver generates XML? And you are setting that XML node via your event receiver? Can you maybe provide a little more detail?

Yes.I have published a blank infopath form.When event reciever triggers, it opens the blank infopath form and fill the form with the data retrieved from the uploaded file. The problem for me is that i have to add a vaue to the dropdown list in the form.I have to add a single value to the dropdown.

If the drop down is hard coded, you'd have to modify the view for the form and resave the template..... I guess one option might be to store the options for the drop down in the form's main data source - then you could add to that.

But the problem is that the auto populated row contains a single value in dropdown.But if the user click add a new row, then the dropdown should show a list and user can select any one.so how should i manage this problem?

What are the settings on the drop down control? Is it getting its values from a secondary data source?

Yes.but that could be managed.But how I set the selected item of dropdown through code.For example,to set a text box we can use".innertext" property.Similar to this is there any property for set dropdown selected item in infopath?

The drop down control is bound to a form field, just like the text box. Simply set the XML element to the value you want, just like you are with the XML element bound to the text box. I'm sorry, I really am having a very hard time understanding what your issue is. If you can attach some screenshots or something under the Options tab in a reply I may be able to help a little more.
