Please try again. Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation." We are running Sharepoint 2013 in Office 365. Wondering if that could be the issue. Thanks, Shawn 09-29-2014 05:07 PM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: Sort Sharepoint Lists Alphabetically Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact You can sort a list data connection in the list connection itself - when you add the data connection to the list you can pick a field to sort by. So - I'm not sure if you need to use owssvr.dll? Reply Contact Thanks for the quick reply! Right, sorry it's a web form. I've already set the Data Connection to sort by the correct column. Works perfectly in InfoPath Filler just not in a browser. Is that what you mean. ? -Shawn 09-29-2014 05:21 PM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: Sort Sharepoint Lists Alphabetically Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Is the data connection directly to the list? Or is it an owssvr dll data connection? I'm confused. :) In the past, when I create a normal list data connection and set it to sort by a specific column, it works in the browser and the filler. Reply Contact Sorry, I have very little experience with InfoPath. The form connects to a normal list in Sharepoint online. If I set the data connect to sort by first name it works perfectly in Filler. However the Webform defaults to ID. I've read you have to do some xml voodoo with the lists GUID in order for Infopath to sort alphabetically in a web form. The previous link i posted mentioned using owssvr dll to extract the XML. I barely have a grasp on this. Really just trying to follow a recipe here. If there's a better way I'd love to hear about it. Thanks! Reply Contact Yeah, sorry - I think the stuff you are finding about having to do something special for sorting may be based on older versions of IP where there wasn't an option for sorting. I can take a look at your form if you like - just attach it under the Options tab. Reply Contact Looks like it's working now! Maybe something had to be re-indexed. Thanks so much for the help! Cheers, Shawn Page 1 of 1 (7 items) Copyright © 2003-2019 Qdabra Software.
