Conditional format based on mutiple conditions on repeating table

I am going crazy here, I am newbie,

I am using the condition below:

    not((:Heart_Rate = 60 and (Stage= 1)) and ((Heart_Rate= 100 and (Stage= 2))))

I am trying to show a text box  based on a value of  heart rate when person is resting(Stage=1) and Exercising (Stage=2)

However this expression shows works vice versa i.e. when

    (Heart_Rate=100 and Stage=1) and (Heart_Rate=60 when stage=2)

    Also

    (Heart_Rate=60 and Stage=1) and (Heart_Rate=100 when stage=2)

How do I stop the second condition from happening, and tmake sure the first two conditions are first applied combined then AND the combined 2 conditions?

I hope I am making sense.

Re: Conditional format based on mutiple conditions on repeating table

So you want to display the text box if they are either resting (Heart_Rate=60 and Stage=1) or exercising (Heart_Rate=100 and Stage=2)?

Assuming no other values are allowed for Heart_Rate or Stage,  make 2 rules:

Rule 1:  Heart_Rate=60 AND Stage <>1 = Hide the control

    Rule 2: Heart_rate=100 AND Stage<>2 = Hide the control

If I'm wrong in please let me know otherwise I can upload an example if you want to see the 2 rules?

Thanks for your reply, I actually would like to display a text box if both resting and excercising condtions are met not "either"

The problem I am having is that the text box displays even when Hear_Rate=100 when resting and Heart_Rate=60 when exercising , so it's basically applying each conditionfor example heart_rate=60 and stage=1 and heart_rate=100 and stage=2

And not the combination of condition 1 (Rest and heart rate= 60) AND condition 2 (Exercise and Heart rate= 100).

Also there are other values allowed for Heart rate and stages and this is when I want the text box to hide.

Thanks again and I look forward for your reply
