Error message (The URL "xxxx.xml" is invalid. It may refer to a nonexistent file or folder...." - added new field in IP template

    Hi,

I created a new field in my InfoPath 2010 template. I published it to my sharepoint site. I added a new column as prompted for the field I created. Then, I published. The new form worked fine and I was able to create new forms and submit without a problem.

Unfortunately, when I tried to update any of my older forms that were created prior to this change; it gives me an error message: "The URL "Filenamexxxx.xml" is invalid. It may refer to a nonexistent file or folder, or refer to a valid file or folder that is not in the current Web." I went back into my template and removed the new field I created and re-published. Then, tried to open the same older form, made a change and saved it. It saved the form this time!

    Why would this happen?

How could I get this field to be available on my site so I could create a new view with this new field/column??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
