    Interact with Lists & Libraries hosted in 1 sharepoint with InfoPath Form in different SharePoint

    Given the following:

    • 2 sharepoint installations (Dev & Production)
    • Production is SharePoint 2010
    • Deve is SharePoint 2013
    • Common user accounts between the 2 installations (aka Active Directory)
    • Common network between the 2 installations
    • Using browser based form designed in InfoPath 2010

    When I publish a form on Dev that is configured to read data from Production's lists & libraries to populate controls like drop down lists but it does work in InfoPath 2010 preview

    How do I configure the dev site and/or the InfoPath form to work correctly so it can read & write from & to the lists & libraries on the Production SharePoint?

     I get the following error when I open a browser based form

    System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out
    at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
    at Microsoft.Office.InfoPath.Server.SolutionLifetime.DataAdapterSharepointListQuery.SendSoapRequestAndReturnResultSync(DataAdapter adapter, WebRequest request)

    I've

    • extended the InfoPath Services timeout settings on Dev's central admin
    • added a trust relationship from dev to sharepoint in central admin using productions ssl cert

    but that didn't seem to help
