Rules are not actioned in the display view form in a Web browser.

    Hi all,

A display form view has two picture buttons, one has a rule to close the form and the other one has a rule to switch view to edit form view.

It works fine in infopath form filler, but when it runs in web browser the close button does not work and the switch view button does switch the view but in the same sharepoint page (displayifs.aspx) which shows all fields for display only.Where it should be transferred to the editifs.aspx sharepoint page.

Have you set both buttons to always postback? Right click the button, go to Button Properties, then select the Browser forms tab and then select "Always".

    Hi Jennifer

I tried youre suggestion, but did not solve my problem.

here some pictures to explain my problem

notice in the address bar >>> displayifs.aspx

and the form controls are read only

now when I click the picture button on the form which has a rule to switch the view to Edit Item, the next picture show the problem

notice that the form has switched to the Edit Item but still the form controls are read only because it still in displayifs.aspx as shown in address bar.

what I need is like wat will happened if I click the Edit Item in the Forms ribbon, see the next picture

notice that the forms controls are editable and it loads in editifs.aspx as shown in the address bar

    sorry for bad english.
