    infopath form by mail question

Hi there, I'm trying to do a very basic form to manage an inventory. What I want to do is this: - send a form to the team - have them reply and select from a drop down list their name (or autocomplete username) - complete a few fields with barcodes numbers The problem is userName() or getting the list of names from a sharepoint gives me an error telling me that I need to publish to a shared location. There HAS to be a way for this to work. I really don't want to write 100 names by hand and keep the list updated. Any help is appreciated. p.s. and yes, it has to be by mail because nobody wants to wait 3 hours to start up internet explorer and a sharepoint. Replying to a mail in 10 seconds is much easier for everyone.

    Hello otvasilescu,

Are you still having issues with your inventory list? If so, does this list of users exist somewhere else, like SharePoint, or Active Directory?

    Thank you,
    Heidi

http://i.imgur.com/XFlimDG.png Hello Heidi, Sorry for the terrible formatting of my posts, I don't know how this works here (seems it's pretty much broken as far as I can see). Yes, I still haven't solved this. What options would work for me: - Getting the Name from a list on a sharepoint - Getting the windows username Both of these options work in preview but not when publishing. When publishing it by mail it gives me that error I mentioned. Thanks in advance for any help, Ovidiu.

Could you get me a screenshot of the error?

Is the SharePoint site you're using for the data a shared site, and what is the trust setting for the form?

Oh my god, I can't believe this worked. I tried setting it as Full Trust (it is "Domain" standard) but I just hadn't signed it. Now I did and it seems to work! This is great news. I will start working next week on this to perfect it a bit. Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to come back if I hit any other hickups.
