I've searched through a lot of examples that cover auto-filling fields based on a dropdown choice.
I managed to get the fields to be autopopulated but my list view now shows an ID instead of the company value.
Here's some information
SharePoint Online
Infopath 2013
(source list)
Customers
-Company Field
-VAT Field
(target list)
Requests
-dropdown Company
.secondary data source = CustomersDDL, entries = /dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW, value = d:ID, displayname = d:Name)
.RULE > set field's value, field = VAT, value= VAT[ID = current()] > xpath= xdXDocument:GetDOM("CustomersDDL")/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/d:SharePointListItem_RW/d:VAT[../d:ID = current()]
-autofil VAT field
The only way I got the rule working is to replace the last part of the xpath to current ()
Still don't really know why but this is probably part of the issue as well?
Any idea? I'm new to Infopath and I have to say I still don't understand how this whole autofill thing works.
