    Create link to submitted forms

    Hi Everyone,

I created an InfoPath 2007 form with sharepoint 2007, that works with a custom workflow. The form is filled out on the sharepoint, which then sends an email to the associated manager notifying them, then they visit the site, approve or deny, and then that data is sent to HR. Currently I have setup views that are designated by department in sharepoint, but I would like for the emails which are generated by the workflow to contain the url path directly to the submitted forms. I created the exact same thing about 6/7 years ago, but for the life of me cant remember how to do this.  Can someone help so that I can code this into the sharepoint workflow so that upon receiving notification of a form submission they can click the link and open the form in the browser. Thank you for your help

    Hi cbarber,

    Welcome to InfoPath Dev.

At the SharePoint Library, right click on one of the hyperlinks which opens up a document. Click copy shortcut and paste this on a text editor such as notepad. Here you will notice that hyperlinks to submitted documents use the form's name as part of the URL string which identifies what document to open. In short, it is sort of a unique identifier. If your form already has a field which holds the form's name, then you can substitute this value to the form name string at found the hyperlink. Hope this helps.

Thanks, donstephen. That actually didn't work for me though because our sharepoint continued to try and redirect that url. So what I found that worked was to use sharepoint designer Absolute Encoded URL with an <a href="Encoded URL HERE...">Open Form</a> . Which worked perfectly plus I was able to rename the "Open Form" text to anything that the company requests at minimal work.
