Hi all,
Tearing my hair out with this one. I have a form library, with a number of InfoPath content types attached to it. I wanted to create a link on another page which would open these forms without having to browse to the form library, click new, select the form.
The forms are set to compatibility mode "InfoPath 2010 Filler Form".
If I go the normal route of browsing to the library, clicking new, then selecting my form, it opens as expected in InfoPath filler.
If I browse to the template location and click on the template file directly, it also opens in InfoPath filler.
So at first I thought I could just create a hyperlink to the template location https://<sharepointsite>/<subsite>/<Library>/<Folder>/template.xsn but clicking the hyperlink attempts to open in browser and displays a message "Error This form cannot be opened in a web browser. To open this form, use Microsoft InfoPath."
Other links I've tried:
https://<sharepointsite>/<subsite>/<Library>/<Folder>/template.xsn?OpenIn=Client
https://<sharepointsite>/<subsite>/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=<subsite>/<library>/<Folder>/template.xsn
https://<sharepointsite>/<subsite>/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=<subsite>/<library>/<Folder>/template.xsn?OpenIn=Client
All of these end up at the same message: "Error This form cannot be opened in a web browser. To open this form, use Microsoft InfoPath."
In case it matters, the options for both the Form Library and the document Library that houses the templates have the option "Default open behaviour for browser-enabled documents: " set to: "Open in the client application"
I'm not sure what I'm missing. I need the forms to be Filler form, since I'm using functionality not present in browser forms. Is there any way I can have these forms open in filler when using a link?
Thanks
James
