Add form data to SharePoint Library columns without Content Type

I am trying to get form data added to a library in a second SharePoint site collection. In the form, I am using submit according to rules. I can submit the form to its source sharepoint library using a Content Type and the data I want is added to the SharePoint Library columns as defined by the content type. The second submit rule uses a data connection to a library in the second site collection. This does submit the form to the library in that site collection, but because you can apparently only associate a form with one content type in one site collection the data I need is not added to the second library along with the form. The Concat file name is added but no other field data.

Is there a way to add form field data to a library with out using a content type?

Does your form template have any promoted properties? Generally, any fields you want to appear in library columns need to be designated as promoted properties.

     Thanks Jennifer,

I am not sure if I am using promoted properties correctly or not. The only way I have been able to add columns in SharePoint Online to a Library was to publish the form as a Content Type. I will do a test to see if I can use promoted properties to a form library or doc library. Part of the issue is I am submitting the form to two different Site Collections, but I can only publish to one. I ended up concatenating the File name in the Submit data connection for the second site using the fields I want to add to the second site collection. Had to separate them with unique characters, which limits how many fields you can use. Once it is submitted I use a SharePoint Designer workflow to parse the field name as a string and then update columns in the library with the field data. May not have been the optimum solution but it works. If I find I can use the promoted properties I will post it.

    Thanks,

     Bob
