    Cannot Find Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath...

For some odd reason, I cannot locate the COM library, Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.

I can see it in the GAC (C:\WINDOWS\assembly), but, when I try to add a reference to it from within a Visual Studio Project, it is no where to be found. As well, do not see it under c:\program files\Microsoft Office\Office 12.

I have reinstalled InfoPath 2007 with no success.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, I am running Visual Studio 2005 with VTSO and Office 12 installed, including InfoPath 2007.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Did you install the Infopath Toolkit for vsto 2005?

    Thanks.

    Hi Rob,

You can't add a reference to the Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath assembly directly. To do so, you need to use the following procedure.

    1. Open a Visual Studio managed code project.

    2. In Solution Explorer, right-click References, and then click Add Reference.
    3. On the COM tab, double-click Microsoft InfoPath 2.0 Type Library, and then click OK

You'll also need to set a reference to the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Xml assembly, which is available in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 directory.

For more information and code samples, see External Automation Scenarios and Examples http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa948065(VS.80).aspx)(You'll need to copy and paste this URL into the browser, I can't determine how/if there's a way to get the full URL to be live.)

    Thanks, Mark

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for being here! We love your documentation. Especially the SDK. How much of the SDK was updated for V2?

    Re: Cannot Find Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath...

    Hi Patrick,

While we no longer will publish the SDK as a download for InfoPath 2007, essentially all of the documentation from the SDK has been updated and incorporated into the current InfoPath Developer Reference, which is available from the InfoPath form designer and here on MSDN:http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb230129.aspx. However, the Developer Sample Forms have not been updated, and consequently none of that documentation has been carried forward.

Also, there is a new set of documentation specfically for managed code called the "InfoPath Developer Reference for Managed Code", which is available here:http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa941030(VS.80).aspx. This documents the new Microsoft.Office.InfoPath namespace, and also incorporates and updates the content that was originally published with the InfoPath Toolkit. The InfoPath Managed Code Form Template portion of this documentation is also available from Visual Studio Tools for Applications (VSTA) when you install InfoPath 2007.

    Hi Mark,
No longer publish the SDK in a downloadable form!? Wow, that's a huge step backward. Personally, I think the InfoPath 2003 SDK is so much better than the online version, but maybe I'm just too "old school" or something. :) I'll try to spend more time with the online documentation and see if that changes my mind... (it's so slow though...)
