How to bind a calculated field and display as a column

I require the user to fill in two text boxes. These two text boxes are concatenated into a read only calculated field. I would then like to display this concatenated field into a column on the associated list.

The problem is when I create concat(field2, " ", field3) into the calculated field (this works on testing the form!) I then bind the calculated field by adding a data field and then binding it. It then deletes my concat formula and replaces it with the field name.

Any ideas on how to combine both?

    Hi cardinaluk,

This happens because of the paths of the fields are different if you use a calculated field. I would suggest setting the default value of the field that is promoted to SharePoint to the formula concat(field2, " ", field3). Is this not possible for you?

Hi Don, I have successfully used the default value now thank you Don. The problem I have now is that I need to somehow get those concatenated fields to appear in one item in a list. So for example in my form I have created a blank multi field table which the user types in data. Is there anyway I could display this data in the list, like the above, for each item? EDIT: I have realised that it's not possible to show what I want the items column entry to look like, but it looks like a table - I just need to know whether it's possible to show these concatenated fields all in one column, making the entries appear below each other. I was looking into using concat(field2, " ",field3) etc, but would like to know if there is any Xpath or anything I can use to make the text appear on separate lines within the same list item. Thank you for providing help. Regards, C
