populate a field from a drop down selection

I understand how to do a standard one, but I am trying something a little different and cannot figure it out. I have a forecast forms library, with Fy1-Fy4 (including all quarters). I am then feeding those values into a quarterly actual form. So what I am trying to do now is populate a field the q1_1 with the forecasted data that is being stored in the forecast library. I need that field data to change based upon which FY is selected. i.e. if FY1 is selected I want it to go out to the forecast library and get a certain field, if FY2 is selected from the drop-down, I want that same field to display the FY2, which is a different cell in the same forms library. I tried using rules but it seems to only work with the first one Condition: If fisc_year = FY1 set fields value "Fy1_q1_e_1" then the next rule would be Condition: If fisc_year = FY2 set fields value "Fy2_q1_e_1" etc. I can get the FY1 to work but when I change the drop down to FY2 it shows nothing. Like it stops after the first rule... I tried to set the value of the field using some concat (thinking that help me) but that did not work either. It fells like it is an IF statement.. if FY1 selected put in fy1 field data, if FY2 is selected set the field to the Fy2 data... etc.... I hope this all makes sense, I just want the fields to change based upon what is in the drop down. All the data is in one library with a data connection set up. I am just not sure what I am doing wrong.

    Hi,

I am unable to determine what causes your rules not to function properly. Would it be possible for you to attach a copy or a sample of you form so I may have a clearer idea of what isn't working for you?
