InfoPath Dev

Setup: I have a SharePoint list with the form customized via InfoPath. One of the Multiple-Selection List Boxes is populated by list data from another SharePoint list. I have allowed users to input custom values into the multiple-selection checkbox.

Question: If a user inputs custom information, how can I extract that single value? This is so I can add it to the secondary list which populates the multiple-selection list box so that users do not have to enter this custom value each time. If I could get the custom value assigned to a single text box or something, I can handle the list update, but I first have to figure out how to isolate the custom entered value...

Any input / suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It shows how to extract the value in a multiple-selection list box
