    Opening another InfoPath Form

Is is possible to open another InfoPath form from an opened InfoPath form. My requirement is to open another form within the same instance of Infopath.

I can open another form using the rule "Open a new form to fill out" but it opens the form in a new InfoPath instance.

Any help in resolving this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Thank in advance

    Hi Afzal,

I'm not sure what you mean here - I was going to suggest the feature you're already using. Do you want to close the current form that the user is working on? If so, there is another rule that will do this for you.

Or are you trying to merge 2 forms together? There is an option to do this in code. Please explain more precisely what you are trying to accomplish.

    Re: Opening another InfoPath Form

    Hi Matt,

Thanks for your response. What I am trying to do is to break a big form into multiple small form in a tabbed display.

I currently have a skillset survey for my company and it contains more than 250 fields in it and the issue is that I cannot publish all these fields to the sharepoint website due to the limitation of 70 fields. I am saving forms as a separate XML file per employee.

Now I am planning to break this big form into multiple forms with appropriate section and planning to use the tabbed display, my objective is to open a separate form within an opened form when user clicks the tab. That way I can pass the smaller number of fields (hopefully less than 70) per form.

I hope I can explain my issue properly, if you need more information then please let me know.

    Thanks once again.

    Hi Afzal,
I think you are going down the wrong path. Why do all of that engineering just to workaround a SharePoint limitation? Why not just use SQL and the form you already have. SharePoint integration is trivial with our Database Accelerator Suite which includes a webpart that allows you to show the fields you want without a limitation.
