    InfoPath 2007 view submitting

    Hi

I have a form which is being filled out by many users throughout the day and they tick off their relevant tasks.

I am looking to 'lock in' the form (make all fields read only) by pressing a button. I have toyed with the idea of doing it changing the view of the form, however i cannot make the form save in the new-read only view. Is there any way of making the new read only view the new default view once the view has been changed?

The form is being used as a template from a sharepoint libraryand then saving back to thesharepoint library

Also if there are any other ideas on how i could get my end result id be happy to listen.

    thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

I'm not sure of how your form is set up, but you can use a hidden field for setting your fields and controls to read only/disabled. When this hidden field has the value of let's say for example ReadOnly, then set conditions on formatting rules to set them as disabled. This appraoch is a bit tedious, but should enable your Save button. You can also run these cndition and rules on document load if users need to re-open the forms. Hope this helps.

Hi Thanks i figured out a way of doing this shortly before your reply. Incase anyone wants to know: created a hidden field with a default value of 1, then setup a button to change this value to 2, then a form load rule that says if hidden field=1 then load normal, if value =2 then load to view2 (which is a read only view). Sounds simple when i read it like that!

     thanks
