    how to create dynamic fields?

hi I am trying to create a form and depending on user choice she/he could have different request issued. For example, user is able to choose between: Request 1, Resquest 2 and Resquest 3. Where each of these have different fields populated. I am using SharePoint 365 and InfoPath 2013. Any idea how I can achieve this? :) Thanks

    Hi exose,

    Welcome to InfoPathDev.

To my understanding, you want to create fields that are dependent on other fields, but I am not quite sure yet on what you are trying to achieve. Would you be able to provide more details? like is this a cascading drop-down field which queries data depending on the selection from the other drop-down field?

Yes and No. Yes: I would like to have dynamic fields which are changing depends on the user choice No: cascading drop-down fields are changing only choices in the fields they are not changing field itself I was thinking to create one list and then take it from there, populate all fields then populate them in the form based on the user initial choice. I just dont want to create three lists for the same purpose and I was thinking I can achieve this by using only one. I have read that it is possible to hide fields in the form or make dynamic fields with jquery however I am not sure how and it would be good if someone could point me to the right direction, thanks :)

I see. Although this is not advisable when dealing with a lot of data, yes it is possible. You are going to need columns on your list on order identyfy which data to display or not. I'm not sure yet with how your form's logic is set up but this should work for drop-down lists.

If you check the image below, there is a Filter Data button at the lower left corner which you can use. Set the filter to a dynamic field on your form, this way, the data will be filtered each time you query.

    Hope this helps.
