Best Practice for reusing a submitted form...(re use the submitted form next year for data entry)

If my users submit their forms to Sharepoint say next year when they have to fill out the form again, can they simply update the form they submitted or do they have to fill out a new blank form.

It would really simplify our process if they could update the form. But then does it get re-sumitted again?  Do I copy all the submitted forms to a new Document Library ,..for instance "Forms 2015" and have them

update that form and resubmit it to the regular document library again.....

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Edward,

Existing SharePoint Library forms have File Names, and these these are generated somehow by your form, and the forms should store that information. Not unless this was not configured, which I doubt. Now the approach you should take is to disable that auto generate File Name rule/function if the forms already have File Names. Next step, set your submit to library data connection to allow overwrite in order to update existing forms.

Please let me know if this solution works for you. If not, kindly attach a sample of your form so I could have a better idea of what's not working for you.
