Let InfoPath open in edit mode

     Hello everyone,

Thank you for this great forum.

Here what I did & What I have : I created a site on SP 2010 side, & a list, then from this list created an infopath 2010 form, with 4 views.

Those views : 1 for Employee to submit a call - 2nd for the HR Responsible to approve on it or to request for more info -  3rd View only for delivered - 4th No access allowed

now on SP side, I showed the form not as dialog, so I get rid from the  ribbon that comes with infopath (save, close edit item) & so that will be better represented for user.

Now, when the employee wants to add a new call, he usually clicks on new item then the view 1 opens normally, with the buttons i ve added it to it. But when the HR responsible wants to take action & he clicks on the call the form opens with no button on it, knowing that the view works normally on dialog mode.

    What shall I do pls??

     If I've understood you correctly

All you're need to do is add form load rules, so that each view opens up at the correct stage depending on when the form is opened and by whom.  You'll need to copy your buttons to each view (I assume your buttons are on the form).

If you haven't already but your form inside a web part page. This would link to the default view i.e View1 each time it was pressed.

Any idea how-to open an item in edit mode not wait until the user click on edit? especially that i want to hide the edit command from the ribbon.

    Thank you all in advance

All field values should be editable unless you have set them or the vierw to read only. Also check the user permissions on the form, are they too restrictive?
