Microsoft discontinues its InfoPath electronic-forms product

So do you think they have purchase K2, Nintex or another product? http://blogs.office.com/2014/01/31/update-on-infopath-and-sharepoint-forms/ Guess we wait until Early march to find out. I do like that they will continue support until 2023.

Thanks for choosing InfoPathDev over the years. You have been here for some time! :)

For sure, I am looking forward to SPC14 and expect Microsoft to have a big surprise at that time, but there's also a good chance that the new tech won't have a slam dunk migration path for your current InfoPath investment.

Good news is that your InfoPath forms store data in an open format (XML) which can be easily migrated to other technologies. And, there's no hurry to do this in the next year or so. You should look at all options and make the decision that is best for you. That decision may be to continue using InfoPath form 3-5 years.

Our weekly webinar last Thursday (01/30) covered this. Please check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_rhNrFx5D8&list=PL581899A129522F53

We also have a new site setup at http://www.formsquo.com/ and we will be updating this every quarter to give you the latest information from Qdabra on migration options. We're doing webinars on Nintex and K2 in the near future too, but those options may not be best for you since they involve proprietary formats. However, Nintex does have some compelling workflow features (as does Formotus).

Patrick, I look forward to an update from you following SPC14, your insight will be invaluable. I personally expect to continue using InfoPath with Qrules and some of the Qdabra web services for the next 1-2 years for major projects at least until we digest the "new method".
