hello and sorry for my english. with infopath 2007 I could use the "Picture Control" to load inside the xml a reference to an image present in the system's resources. when the user is entering data, clicking on the "Picture Control" show a dialog box that allow him to select a file. the file don't be stored in the database, only the path. this was possible because it is active the option "allow the search for new images." This option no longer exists in the "image control" of infopath 2010. how can I solve the problem? i've create the form based on xml schema and the element containg the path is an attribut named "href". thx, milko

Random idea, but try changing the href from an attribute to a regular field. You may have to put it under a group node first (the thing that looks like a folder in the data source).

If you insert the picture control as a link, it allows you to enter the address to the file - does that do what you need?

it seems changed from infopath 2007 version in infopath 2007, in the properties windows of the image control i can flag the "allow the search for, removal and replacement of the images" properties and the image still be linked. in infopath 2010 the same control always embed the file inside the xml thanks for your support. milko
