    Set a record as primary

    I have the following problem:

At an InfoPath form which should be browser-enabled is a repeating section. In this section you can add lot of records. For example multiple addresses. In the data source of the repeating section I have added the field “primary”. And I want to use the Radio Button-Control so that the user can set one of the records to primary. In the way, that only one Radio Button is activated.
The problem is, that the rules, I can set on this field, only obtain of one record not of the whole section. Is anybody here who can solve my problem?

    Thanks a lot,
    Sebastian.

Hi Sebastian and welcome to the forum!

If you are binding the radio button to a node in each of the records then you will not be able to exclusively chose one of them. This only works when several radio button controls are bound to the same node in the Schema and you assign different values to each one. I suggest that you use buttons in each of the rows and add rules or code on the button that clears all all "Primary" fields and sets the current one.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I understand what you mean, but not how can I realized this in InfoPath. Can you give help?

The actual data source schema is:
    - person (section)
    ...- forename
    ...- surname
    ...- address (repeating section)
    ......- primary
    ......- street
    ......- zip
    ......- city

Primary is the field, which should be bound on a radio button. I think with your solution you would put the field "primary" in the "person"-section, right? But in this way, I can access directly to the choosen primary data record in the "address"-section later
