InfoPath Dev

Hi, I've created a infopath form and hosted it on a SP form library. once a form is created and saved in SP, i require a selection of users to access the form to review and approve it by using check boxes in the form. I have created a button that will checkout the form for the user. The form opens as Read only and stays as Read only even after the user has checked out using the button on the form. When they then try to save using a custom button which does a submit (with overwrite) and check in, infopath throws an error saying the form is Readonly. How do i toggle readonly and allow the user to submit the form? Please help!

Is the form successfully being checked out when the user clicks the button? Sorry, I really don't have any ideas as to why the form is still read only.

After the form is first submitted and checked in, a set of approvers get notified by email which contains a link to the form. they access the link which opens the infopath form for them at which time it is read-only. The form contains a button to remotely checkout the file and when the the button is used the form does get successfully checked out. the idea is for the user to remote checkout and be able to update the form and check it back in. in excel there is a way to toggle readonly after the file has been opened.. i was wondering if it is possible to do the same in one note.

Got it to work.. tried sending the form as an attachment to the user rather than an link on the email and the remote checkout - update - remote checkin worked! thanks for your time
