Single Text Box bound to each field in a column of repeating table

I am using InfoPath 2007. I have a repeating table that has the rows Item Name, Price, Quantity, and total. In my database I also have an extra field called itemSource. I do not want to show the source for each row of my repeating table nor do I want to have to type the source over and over again. Is it possible to create a single text box and then have that single text box automatically submit to the other fields in the row column (not shown on the form)?

When I currently added the text box it asked me to bind that text box to my database connection. When I chose my column that I wanted it said "You have chose to bind a non-repeating control to a repeating field of group. This control will be bound to the first item in the repeating field or group." I would prefer for it to bind to every field in the group.

I have attached my form as it may help make this question understandable.

On the form you will see the repeating table and then directly below there is the source. I would like the source to be part of the repeating table, only I would like the user to only see it one time. Not sure if this is possible or not. I like the layout of the form.

I'd add a new field for source that is outside of the repeating group (that is submitted to SQL) and then use a default value on the source field inside the repeating group. I've attached your sample with this change. Save the file locally, right click and select design to open in design mode.

I do not have SQL available. Will this still work?

Sorry - your form appeared to be DB bound so I made the assumption you were using SQL - at any rate, take a look at the sample I provided and see if it works for you.

Everything works perfectly. I created a new text box like your example, then on the same field in the repeating table I set the default value to the new text box. Everything works perfectly.

    Thanks for the help.

You bet - glad that worked for you!
