Published form started to give 5374 error.

    Hi,
I have an issue with my infopath form once it has been published.
It was working fine after publishing over the last few days however today it has stopped loading the published form.
I am getting Error event 5374 and the form doesn't load just says that there was an error and gives you the option to reload/restart or close form.
Please can anyone help with this as there isn't much help to be found on this error out there.

Hi - is this published to an on-prem SharePoint install? Or Office 365? If on premises, you should also get a correlation id in the error message that you can provide your SharePoint admin - they can review the log files and get you additional info on what is going wrong. Do you know what you may have changed in your form between a working publish and the new one that doesn't work? Form load rules, or maybe rules on a field that gets set when the form loads?

Hi Hilary, Thanks for this help.

It is being published to a remote SharePoint 2013 server.

Unfortunately I don't have a SharePoint administrator as such, the person who installs/maintains is pretty new to SharePoint, but have access to the server, can you tell me where to find the log files so I can view them, and try and work it out with the correlation id. Yes I am getting one with the error.

I didn't change the form load  and about the only thing I remember doing is adding a people picker.

I have tried deleting the form from the site and starting from a fresh upload instead of replacing but no luck there either.

Could this be caused by permissions at all or by a data connection or only by faulty code in the form itself?

    Jacqui.

Here's a StackOverflow question that has info on the default location of the SharePoint log files. Try opening the form so that you get the error, then hop on the server, open the most recent log and search for the correlation ID. Default is here, I think, for ShP 2013:  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\15\LOGS

Yeah, that is not much to go on. Frankly, if it was my form, I'd make a copy of it and start tearing things out till it worked in the browser again in order to track the issue down.

Re: Published form started to give 5374 error.

    Hi

Thanks for your help with this, I found out what was causing the problem, I had added the people picker into a section with a different binding source to the people picker.

I moved it out of the section and all works again now so happy bunny.

I would be interested to find out why this is the case though, so I can understand what the problem actually was, so if anyone has any ideas there would be grateful.

    Thanks.

    Jacqui.
