 Please can anyone tell me how to pull my rest web service data through in alphabetical order, rather than in ID number order?

We regularly add data to the lookup source data and I need this to always come through on the dropdown list in alphabetical order as there is circa 350 items on there.

Your REST Web Service URL should have a pattern similar to this:

• http://<YourSite>/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/Categories?$orderby=CategoryName desc
• http://<YourSite>/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/Categories?$orderby=CategoryName asc

Hi Good day. I do have some concern using order by. I have a REST URL as below

https://servername/_vti_bin/ListData.svc/ListName?$select=Function,RegionGroup&$orderby=RegionGroup

When I preview the form in browser, the Region Group value will be sorted ascending but only the first three value would be return in the dropdown. But when I remove the orderby in the query, the dropdown will display all available value but it is not sorted.

Can you please advice.

This is a bit weird and I am also baffled by the outcome of the query. Could you check by displaying the data connections repeating table and see how many items are returned for both url strings (with and without the ordeby query) and post your results here?
